We at Jacobs take every safety precaution to welcome you and start classes in person on September 1st to provide you the best college experience.

Our online freshie orientation known as the Freshie Journey will prepare you for the new phase of your life before you arrive on campus to make the transition as smooth as possible.

We have planned a sequence of online live events as well as content on-demand to help orient you regardless whether you will need to quarantine upon arrival or not. The journey is informative but also fun and interactive and you will get the opportunity to connect with your peers already during the final month of your summer vacation.

The Freshie Journey consists of a series of modules designed to prepare you to live, work and study with students from all over the world.

Every week we will release a new batch of content and hold a live web session for questions and discussions on what you’ve experienced.

It’s all about you! All the modules will remain online, available on demand even if you join late. All the web-sessions will be recorded and made available upon request.

Please bear in mind that you must complete all the modules in order to begin studying at Jacobs University as they contain important information about the structure of your studies, which courses to register for and how to successfully complete your program requirements. In short it has everything you need to know in order to become a Successful Jacobs Student! 

Be aware that the only way to participate in the Freshie Journey is by submitting a scanned version of your signed study contract - you can find further information and details on your VIP PAGE.

Jacobs University is preparing to accommodate those students who will need to quarantine upon arrival by offering an Early Arrival Day on August 20th. Please find more information below in the Arrival section or in your program schedule.

Please take into consideration that early arrival will not be possible for students who do not need to quarantine and no on-site activities will be offered during the quarantine period.

Note: All in-person activities will follow the preventive regulations, currently in force, against the Corona virus in Germany. Possible updates on the activities and the actual dates will be provided later.

Your peer counselor or mentor will get in touch with you before you arrive and help you orientate before, during and after arrival on campus. They will support in many ways to make sure you onboard easily and become a part of the Jacobs community quickly. You will be provided with all the information you need for a successful start on campus and off-campus (for Graduate students).

Based on the current travel requirements for quarantine in August Jacobs is prepared to welcome students who need to quarantine as soon as August 20th. During quarantine, you will have a chance to get settled and by August 30th you will be able to join your peers in safety.

For those who are flying to Germany, here are some tips on different airports to make your air ticket booking process easier.

Please note that August 20th is the earliest arrival date. We cannot offer campus accommodation to students who may need to arrive earlier. Students who do not need to quarantine will not be roomed on campus earlier than August 30th.
