Students of Jacobs University Bremen win logistics competition

Great success for Sharath Abraham Peter, Deep Vijay Merchant, Praveen Vadivel and Neelesh Balakrishnan. The students of Supply Chain Engineering and Management at Jacobs University won the regional Case Competition of the Association of Supply Chain Management (ASCM) in London in cooperation with Deloitte Consulting. The quartet thus qualified for the final in Las Vegas in September.

470 teams took part in the international contest, 64 were selected for the regional competitions at eight locations. Within a few hours, the participants had to complete a challenging task in their field of expertise and present their solution to the jury. In London, the Jacobs University team prevailed against competitors from Great Britain, Switzerland, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa. The four winners study in their third year Supply Chain Engineering and Management and will now represent the region Europe, Middle East and Africa in the finals.

There they will meet, amongst others, teams from Case Western Reserve University in the USA, George Brown College in Canada, the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Tecnologico de Monterrey Campus Querétaro in Mexico and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The winning team will be the 'ASCM Case Competition Champions' - and will receive prize money amounting to 7,500 US dollar.
