In the international U-Multirank university rankings, Jacobs University has again made an outstanding showing. In the areas of research, knowledge transfer, degree courses and teaching, internationalization, and regional engagement, the private Bremen university is among the five best universities in Germany. “This result is an impressive confirmation of our work,” said a joyful Professor Katja Windt, President of Jacobs University.

Since 2014 the independent U-Multirank organization, which receives funding from the European Union, annually rates the performance of universities based on various quality characteristics. In particular, in the categories of research and international alignment, Jacobs University achieved top ratings. This year’s rankings included about 1500 universities in 99 countries.

Also in the top group of German universities were the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management, the Karlsruher Institute of Technology, the Technical University of Munich, and the University of Stuttgart.

“This result is all the more pleasing, because information from students is also incorporated in the assessments,” says University President Katja Windt. “We devote ourselves intensively to them. Starting with the very first semester, students are integrated in our research projects; their courses of study have an international orientation. This orientation is visible in the outcome.”
